New Roles for MGA Founders Signal Growth and Mission-Driven Approach

2021 has been a time of profound change for the mobile industry, requiring us all to reimagine the way we think about business. Here at MGA, we are excited to announce our own exciting changes that will help propel MGA forward, creating a dynamic, mission-driven organization focused on creating an inclusive, diverse, and progressive community.

Founder and previous President at MGA, Dave Westin, will move into a new role as Chair, Advisory Board & Strategic Speaker Outreach. For the past 14 years, Dave has been the driving force in making MGA the Mobile Industry’s most prominent davewestinCommunity, where mobile industry leaders can develop lifelong relationships that lead to career advancement, knowledge sharing, and revenue-generating deals. Dave’s new role will see him working in an advisory role and taking on more specific curation and speaker outreach responsibilities.

“During my 14 years at MGA, I have seen the Mobile world grow dramatically, and I am proud to see how MGA has been a key part of connecting the leaders and innovators within the Community,” says Dave. “This is a pivotal point for the Industry, as doors open up for a return to live events, but we are also embracing the new technologies we have all embraced over the last year and a half. Now is a great time for Jen to step up as Co-Founder, Chairwoman & CEO. I am excited to see her inclusive, progressive, and mission-driven approach come into play.”

Jen will add a refreshed approach to strategy as she steps up to lead MGA into new places in 2021. Jen’s mission-driven approach will see the implementation of a new hybrid events structure, introduce team expertise, and advance equality and diversity issues within the Mobile Industry. As a majority women-operated company — with over  90% of the team being female — MGA believes that it can make a difference in addressing gender and race imbalances within the industry.

“Since day one, MGA has always been about the Community, becoming the place where mobile professionals and upstarts can access a professional network to learn and share,” says Jen. “I am delighted to be taking on the role of Co-Founder and Chairwoman, where I will drive our mission to continue growing, diversifying, and learning throughout the next few years.”

She continues, “As a majority woman-owned and operated business, we need to advance the cause of gender equity within the mobile growth community. From the Women of the Year Awards, speaker line-ups that highlight women, and exclusive women-only networking events — we will do everything we can to push the Industry forward.”
